Children learn from watching and observing their surroundings. As they grow up, it is important for them to understand the earth and its various inhabitants including different species of plant and animals alphabetical life that is abundant on the planet.
Zoos are great to inform and educate children about different animals and how they are important for a balance in eco system. Children can learn along with having loads of fun in a great outdoor learning environment. Children will understand the importance of preserving the wildlife and caring for the planet which makes them better individuals as they grow up.
Apart from educating the children and providing an environment for them to have fun while learning, zoos are also important for many other reasons. Some of them are:
• They protect the endangered wildlife from the clutches of poachers and other natural disasters that can make them extinct. Many species find refuge in zoos and live harmoniously in their natural habitats which zoos are successful in recreating.
• They are perfect for breeding animals that have the danger of becoming extinct. Breeding in captivity in fact is the only hope to increase the population of some species. They are successful in saving many animals from perishing, and have released them into their natural habitat when their population has improved.
• Many times, even adults learn from them since they are the closest access they can get to various natural environments around the world, simulated perfectly. It gives them a feel of how different regions of forests around the world may look, and provide them with valuable knowledge about natural habitat of various animals.
• Conservation of wildlife is an active campaigning which many zoo parks launch. Public can directly be involved to make impact upon the world and directly help in preserving forests and natural homes of many animals. They provide an excellent insight into plight of many animals on the brink of extinction and provide a channel for people to make their contribution to prevent endangered species from becoming extinct.
• They also give first hand information for various research students, and provide a peaceful environment for their studies.
